Description

 Gujarat:-
is a state on the western coast of India with a coastline of 1,600 km (990 mi) – most of which lies on the Kathiawar peninsula – and a population in excess of 60 million. It is the fifth largest Indian state by area and the ninth largest state by population. Gujarat is bordered by Rajasthan to the northeast, Daman and Diu to the south, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Maharashtra to the southeast, Madhya Pradesh to the east, and the Arabian Sea and the Pakistani province of Sindh to the west. Its capital city is Gandhinagar, while its largest city is Ahmedabad.

Main attractions:

Gir Interpretation Zone:
To reduce the disturbance from tourism in the main sanctuary area, and to facilitate tourists to understand the importance of Gir and its wildlife, an interpretation zone has been created at Devalia. This comprises 412 ha of chain-link fenced area which is ‘Gir in a nutshell’, covering all habitat types and all major representatives of wildlife of Gir. The basic aim of creating this facility is to provide an opportunity to view lions and other animals in their natural habitat within a short period and reduce tourist pressure on the sanctuary. The area has a good quantity of prey base in the form of Spotted Deers, Blue Bulls, Wild Boars, Blackbucks, Sambars and Chinkaras. Spotting a Lion in its savanna habitat is a treat to the eyes for a wildlife. A good variety of grassland, as well as forest avifauna, is also spotted in the area. 20-30 Indian Vultures are regular visitors here.

Aranya Eco-Farm:

Aranya Eco Farm, which provides you the best farm stay in Sasan Gir, is a 6 acre 100% Organic Mango with variety of fruits , flowers and vegetables. It is the most popular farm with pool in Sasan Gir & it is one of the finest hotels with pool in Sasan Gir. Our expert cooks from their own restaurant make variety of dishes from all organic ingredients, in fact it is one of the pure veg resorts in Sasan Gir. Guest can explore the Organic Mango Orchard with various other organic fruits and vegetable in the Farm. A 3 hour trail at Sasan, a thoughtfully developed and well-managed ecotourism is in function, with properly assigned trails and routes in Dedakadi and Sasan Ranges. Such routes have been made within the tourism zone of the Sanctuary with an average length of 35 km each. Each of the routes encompasses almost all habitat types of Gir region and facilitates wildlife sightings with a considerable ease. Artificial water-holes along the routes increase the probability of wildlife sightings. Private open Gypsies, registered by the Forest Department are available locally along with the well-trained local Guide.

Diu:
Diu is a coastal town at the eastern end of Diu Island, India. A bridge connects the island to the state of Gujarat. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, Diu Fort, a 16th-century Portuguese citadel, features a lighthouse and cannons. Inland, centuries-old St. Paul’s Church was built in elaborate baroque style. Nearby, whitewashed St. Thomas Church is now home to the Diu Museum, with wooden carvings and religious artifacts.

Somnath:
Somnath temple located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval in Saurashtra on the western coast of Gujarat, is believed to be the first among the twelve jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. It is an important pilgrimage and tourist spot of Gujarat. Reconstructed several times in the past after repeated destruction by several Muslim invaders and rulers as well as the Portuguese,[7] the present temple was reconstructed in Chaulukya style of Hindu temple architecture and completed in May 1951. The reconstruction was started under the orders of the Home Minister of India Vallabhbhai Patel and completed after his death.

Somnath Beach:
Along with the world-famous Somnath Temple, the Somnath Beach also forms an essential part of the itinerary of a tourist visiting Gujarat. Travellers can unwind here after a long day of sightseeing, although, swimming is not recommended. One can also find many joggers running along a path in early mornings and evenings. Tourists can rejuvenate themselves with fresh coconut water and corn available here along with the very famous camel rides.

Bhalka Tirth:
