Eco tour to Jawai - Rajasthan :-
Camp Vellar is a close-to-nature, focused-on-sustainability wilderness destination in the Bera / Jawai Bandh region of Rajasthan, situated in the midst of scrub, thorn and meadows of wild grasses -- bordered by a watercourse on one side and within a stone's throw of a range of rocky hillocks. Conceptualized and curated by a poet and photographer of Nature, it aims at offering camp living and wilderness experiences to a very exclusive clientele (all its occupancy is tented and it can cater to only 14-16 guests at any one time) that would delight in getting far from the madding crowd.Camp Vellar offers a range of activities and experiences aimed to delight the discerning nature / wildlife enthusiast -- day and night game drives and safaris (Leopards, Sloth Bears, Nilgais, Chinkaras, Hyenas, etc are prime attractions), birding at Jawai Bandh and other lakes and wetlands, accompanied / assisted treks and hikes, wilderness walks, etc. All treks / walks and drives / safaris are led by trained guides and naturalists. In addition, for guests who so wish, also on offer is the luxury and leisure of doing nothing. Guests can just dial in some R&R while drinking their full of the pristine air and enjoying camp life at its bestest! Due to a focus on being sustainable and a desire to showcase the brilliance of its night skies, the Camp doesn't use bright / harsh lighting and all its tents exclusively use solar lanterns for lighting. Needless to say, each has an aura and character of its own!
Location and getting there:-
Camp Vellar is located in the famed Bera / Jawai Bandh region of Rajasthan, long known to many discerning wildlife enthusiasts for its leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles and wild birds. Valer / Vellar, 3 kms away, is the closest village and around 2.5 hours by road from Udaipur, the nearest Airport. Camp Vellar can also be easily reached by train, with Abu Road, Pali Marwar, Falna and Pindwara being the closest Railway Stations (all of them are well connected by road).

*An accent on exclusivity and sustainability:*
The medium term goal is to develop Camp Vellar (in tune with rewilding principles and biodiversity conservation practises) into a magnet for all the wildlife in the region and always remember that "Nature has right of way". The long term goal is to achieve business growth sustainably and provide employment opportunities as well as financial help to the villagers of Vellar and other hamlets in the region, so that they continue to be custodians of the wildlife of their regions.
